For District of Elkford Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 869, 2022

Pursuant to Section 466 of the Local Government Act R.S.B.C. 2015, Chapter 1, notice is hereby given that council for the District of Elkford has scheduled a public hearing to hear representations of all persons who believe that their interest in property is affected by proposed District of Elkford Zoning Bylaw No. 737, 2013, Amendment Bylaw No. 869, 2022.

Details of Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 869, 2022

Applicant:

District of Elkford

Applicable Properties:

Building height amendments: All R-1 and R-MH zoned properties in the District

Storage container amendments: All A-1, UR-1, P-1 and P-2 zoned properties in the District

General Purpose:

This bylaw amendment will:

  • Increase the permitted heights of coach houses and accessory buildings in the R-1 and R-MH zones.
  • Permit storage containers in the A-1, UR-1, P-1 and P-2 zones

  • More specifically, the proposed amendments include:
  • Increasing the maximum height of coach houses in the R-1 zone to 10.5 m (increased from 6 m or one storey, whichever is less)
  • Increasing the maximum height of principle buildings in the R-MH zone to 10.5 m (increased from 9 m)
  • Increasing the maximum height of coach houses in the R-MH zone to 10.5 m (increased from 6 m or one storey, whichever is less)
  • Increasing the maximum height of accessory buildings in the R-MH zone to 6 m (increased from 4.6 m)
  • Adding storage containers as a permitted use to the A-1, UR-1, P-1 and P-2 zones(currently only permitted in the I-1 and C-2 zones)
